Founding message

Here is the first issue of Feature. If you have never heard of feature, it is a platform for collecting and displaying short articles developed for vanilla mods (data pack + resource pack). It is used for communication between developers and is updated monthly.

The creation of this month’s magazine came from an idea in a group chat. The group of friends hopes that Vanilla Library can open a short article platform to promote communication among developers.

After all, Vanilla Library has been open for nearly half a year. As a resource collection platform, it is very comprehensive, but its contribution to unifying vanilla development is still limited. As a static platform, if it just sits there quietly, it will gradually lose attention resources and then slowly fall behind. As an individual, my energy to maintain it is limited, and it is impossible to collect all the development resources scattered throughout the community. Although Vanilla Library has a submission channel, it is understood that people are worried about the insufficient quality of their content and the lack of feedback, so few submissions are made.

Therefore, I think it is good and necessary to open such a platform to accept simple short article submissions, encourage communication, and quickly iterate and update.

It has always been my vision to integrate community resources scattered across various places, to bring this MC community that is gradually falling apart, and to re-energize the domestic MC creative community.

In fact, when the call for submissions video was released, I was not optimistic about its prospects. I would worry that I would not be able to attract enough submissions due to my low profile. But in the past month, I have received many high-quality submissions, which has lifted the clouds in my heart a little. So here I must express my sincere thanks to all the contributing authors.

The so-called "data pack top issue" is of course a gimmick and a joke. This platform is not a real journal either. But I really hope that it can become a bridge connecting creators, establish a platform to promote communication, and preserve the results of communication as much as possible. Therefore, I hope that readers who find this platform will feel free to leave their own insights and inject some vitality into it.

Thank you all for this.
